- For the bread:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- For the apple layer:
- 2 large apples, peeled and chopped
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- For the cinnamon swirl:
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- For the glaze:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1โ2 tablespoons milk
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- 1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- 2. In a medium bowl, mix chopped apples with 2 tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Set aside.
- 3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs, milk, and vanilla.
- 4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to wet mixture and stir until combined.
- 5. Pour half the batter into prepared loaf pan. Top with half the apple mixture and half the brown sugar-cinnamon swirl. Repeat layers with remaining batter, apples, and swirl.
- 6. Lightly swirl layers together with a knife for a marbled effect.
- 7. Bake for 50โ60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- 8. Cool bread in pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- 9. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth and drizzle glaze over cooled bread.

- Best served slightly warm with extra glaze.
- Try using Honeycrisp or Granny Smith apples for the perfect sweet-tart balance.
