Description

Soft and chewy marzipan cookies with crisp edges and a rich almond flavor. These elegant cookies are easy to make and perfect for holidays, tea time, or gifting.


Ingredients

  • 200 g marzipan, grated or finely chopped
  • 100 g all-purpose flour
  • 75 g granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • Sliced almonds or powdered sugar, for topping

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 180ยฐC (350ยฐF) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  • 2. In a bowl, combine the grated marzipan and granulated sugar.
  • 3. Beat in the egg and almond extract until smooth.
  • 4. Stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt until a soft dough forms.
  • 5. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll into balls.
  • 6. Place on the prepared baking tray and flatten slightly.
  • 7. Top with sliced almonds or dust with powdered sugar.
  • 8. Bake for 10โ€“12 minutes until lightly golden at the edges.
  • 9. Allow to cool on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Do not overbake to keep the cookies soft and chewy.
  • If the dough is sticky, chill for 15 minutes before shaping.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
