Soft and chewy Brown Sugar Maple Cookies infused with warm maple syrup flavor and caramel-like sweetness from brown sugar.

- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon if using.
- 3. In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- 4. Add egg, egg yolk, maple syrup, and vanilla, whisking until combined.
- 5. Gradually stir in dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
- 6. Scoop dough into 1 1/2-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
- 7. Bake 10โ12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden and centers are set.
- 8. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For stronger maple flavor, use Grade B maple syrup or add 1/2 tsp maple extract.
- Drizzle with a maple glaze made of powdered sugar and maple syrup for extra indulgence.
- Cookies stay soft for up to 5 days in an airtight container, or can be frozen for up to 2 months.
