Description
Sweet and salty caramel apple pretzel bites made with crisp apples, chewy caramel, and chocolate-drizzled pretzels are the perfect fall snack or party treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), chopped into small cubes
- 1 package square pretzels
- 20 soft caramels, unwrapped
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for melting)
- Sprinkles or sea salt for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- 1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lay out half of the pretzels.
- 2. Top each pretzel with a small piece of apple.
- 3. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt caramels with milk in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- 4. Spoon or pipe melted caramel over apple pieces, then top with another pretzel to form a sandwich. Press gently to seal.
- 5. In another bowl, melt chocolate chips with coconut oil until smooth. Drizzle over pretzel bites.
- 6. Add sprinkles or a pinch of sea salt if desired.
- 7. Chill in the refrigerator for 15โ20 minutes to set before serving.
Notes
- Best enjoyed the same day, as apples can release moisture and soften the pretzels.
- For variety, dip the whole pretzel bite halfway into chocolate instead of drizzling.
- Use different apple varieties to play with sweet-tart flavors.
