Savory, flaky hand pies filled with tender chicken, fresh chives, and creamy sauce for a delicious snack or meal.
Ingredients
2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
1/4 cup fresh chives, finely chopped
1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1 package puff pastry sheets, thawed
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Flour, for dusting
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, chopped chives, cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
3. Lightly flour a surface and roll out the puff pastry sheets. Cut each sheet into 4 equal squares.
4. Place a spoonful of the chicken mixture in the center of each square.
5. Fold the pastry over to form a triangle or rectangle, pressing the edges with a fork to seal.
6. Brush each hand pie with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
7. Place the hand pies on the prepared baking sheet.
8. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
These hand pies are perfect for meal prep and can be frozen before baking for later use.
Serve with a side of salad or dipping sauce for a complete meal.
You can substitute chives with green onions for a slightly different flavor.
