Description
Mini fried funnel cake bites dusted with powdered sugar are a fun, carnival-style treat thatโs crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- 1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and sugar until smooth.
- 2. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually whisk dry ingredients into wet mixture until a smooth batter forms.
- 3. Heat 2 inches of oil in a deep pot or skillet to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
- 4. Carefully drop small spoonfuls of batter into hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- 5. Cook for 2โ3 minutes, turning halfway, until golden brown and puffed.
- 6. Remove bites with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- 7. Dust generously with powdered sugar and serve warm.
Notes
- For a flavor twist, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar instead of powdered sugar.
- Serve with chocolate sauce, caramel, or fruit preserves for dipping.
- Best enjoyed fresh, as they lose crispness when stored.
