Description
A soft and chewy gluten-free dessert bar made with oat flour, lightly sweetened with maple syrup and packed with chocolate chips for a wholesome treat.

- 2 cups oat flour (certified gluten-free)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup coconut oil or unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup coconut sugar or brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together oat flour, baking soda, and salt.
- 3. In a separate large bowl, whisk together melted coconut oil, maple syrup, coconut sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
- 4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix until well combined.
- 5. Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts if using.
- 6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- 7. Bake for 20–24 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- 8. Allow to cool completely before slicing into bars.
Notes
- Make sure to use certified gluten-free oat flour to ensure the recipe remains gluten-free.
- These bars store well in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the fridge for up to a week.
- For a vegan option, replace the egg with a flax egg (1 tablespoon ground flaxseed + 3 tablespoons water).
