Description
A smooth and aromatic beverage that blends earthy matcha with the floral citrus notes of Earl Grey tea. A unique and energizing drink served hot or iced.
Ingredients
1 teaspoon matcha powder
1 Earl Grey tea bag
1/2 cup hot water (not boiling, about 175°F / 80°C)
1/2 cup milk or dairy-free milk, warmed
1–2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
Instructions
1. Steep the Earl Grey tea bag in 1/2 cup hot water for 3–5 minutes, then remove the tea bag.
2. In a separate cup or bowl, whisk matcha powder with a small splash of the steeped tea to form a smooth paste.
3. Add the remaining Earl Grey tea to the matcha paste and stir to combine.
4. Stir in the warmed milk and sweetener, if using.
5. Serve hot in a mug, or pour over ice for a chilled version.
Notes
Use high-quality matcha for the best flavor and color.
Steeping the Earl Grey tea slightly stronger balances the matcha’s depth.
Try it with oat milk or almond milk for a creamy dairy-free option.
