Description
A smooth and aromatic beverage that blends earthy matcha with the floral citrus notes of Earl Grey tea. A unique and energizing drink served hot or iced.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 teaspoon matcha powder
- 1 Earl Grey tea bag
- 1/2 cup hot water (not boiling, about 175°F / 80°C)
- 1/2 cup milk or dairy-free milk, warmed
- 1–2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
Instructions
- 1. Steep the Earl Grey tea bag in 1/2 cup hot water for 3–5 minutes, then remove the tea bag.
- 2. In a separate cup or bowl, whisk matcha powder with a small splash of the steeped tea to form a smooth paste.
- 3. Add the remaining Earl Grey tea to the matcha paste and stir to combine.
- 4. Stir in the warmed milk and sweetener, if using.
- 5. Serve hot in a mug, or pour over ice for a chilled version.
Notes
- Use high-quality matcha for the best flavor and color.
- Steeping the Earl Grey tea slightly stronger balances the matcha’s depth.
- Try it with oat milk or almond milk for a creamy dairy-free option.
