Description
A naturally caffeine-free and soothing beverage, rooibos tea with milk offers a smooth, slightly sweet flavor ideal for winding down.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup water
- 1 rooibos tea bag or 1 tsp loose rooibos tea
- 1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 1 tsp honey or sweetener (optional)
- Pinch of cinnamon or vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- 1. Bring the water to a boil in a small saucepan or kettle.
- 2. Place the rooibos tea bag or loose tea in a mug or teapot.
- 3. Pour the hot water over the tea and steep for 5–7 minutes to extract full flavor.
- 4. Meanwhile, heat the milk gently in a separate saucepan until warm, but not boiling.
- 5. Remove the tea bag or strain the loose tea.
- 6. Pour the warm milk into the brewed rooibos tea and stir to combine.
- 7. Sweeten with honey or other sweetener if desired.
- 8. Optionally, add a pinch of cinnamon or a drop of vanilla for extra flavor.
Notes
- Rooibos pairs well with both dairy and non-dairy milks such as oat, almond, or soy.
- This drink can also be served iced simply chill and pour over ice cubes.
- For a stronger flavor, steep the rooibos directly in hot milk instead of water.
