Description
A naturally caffeine-free and soothing beverage, rooibos tea with milk offers a smooth, slightly sweet flavor ideal for winding down.
Ingredients
1 cup water
1 rooibos tea bag or 1 tsp loose rooibos tea
1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
1 tsp honey or sweetener (optional)
Pinch of cinnamon or vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
1. Bring the water to a boil in a small saucepan or kettle.
2. Place the rooibos tea bag or loose tea in a mug or teapot.
3. Pour the hot water over the tea and steep for 5–7 minutes to extract full flavor.
4. Meanwhile, heat the milk gently in a separate saucepan until warm, but not boiling.
5. Remove the tea bag or strain the loose tea.
6. Pour the warm milk into the brewed rooibos tea and stir to combine.
7. Sweeten with honey or other sweetener if desired.
8. Optionally, add a pinch of cinnamon or a drop of vanilla for extra flavor.
Notes
Rooibos pairs well with both dairy and non-dairy milks such as oat, almond, or soy.
This drink can also be served iced—simply chill and pour over ice cubes.
For a stronger flavor, steep the rooibos directly in hot milk instead of water.
