Description
A rich and buttery dump cake packed with crunchy pecans and sweet filling—easy to make with minimal prep and maximum flavor. Great for holidays and gatherings.
Ingredients
1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, undrained
1 can (21 oz) pecan or butter pecan pie filling (or substitute apple pie filling with added pecans)
1 box yellow cake mix
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Spread crushed pineapple evenly in the bottom of the dish.
3. Spoon the pecan pie filling over the pineapple and spread gently.
4. Sprinkle cinnamon over the fruit layers, if using.
5. Evenly sprinkle the dry cake mix on top of the fruit—do not stir.
6. Drizzle melted butter over the cake mix, covering as much as possible.
7. Top with chopped pecans.
8. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
9. Let cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
For extra crunch, lightly toast the pecans before adding.
You can mix and match pie fillings—apple or pumpkin work well with pecans.
Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat before serving.
