Description
A soft and tender poke cake with condensed milk for a rich, ultra-moist dessert topped with whipped cream.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box yellow or white cake mix (plus ingredients listed on box)
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional toppings: sprinkles, fresh berries, crushed cookies
Instructions
- 1. Prepare and bake the cake in a 9ร13-inch pan according to package directions.
- 2. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes, then use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes evenly across the surface.
- 3. Slowly pour the sweetened condensed milk over the warm cake, allowing it to soak into the holes.
- 4. Refrigerate the cake for at least 1 hour to absorb the milk.
- 5. In a bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form.
- 6. Spread the whipped cream evenly over the chilled cake.
- 7. Add optional toppings like sprinkles, berries, or crushed cookies.
- 8. Slice and serve chilled.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a layer of fruit preserves or caramel sauce before topping with whipped cream.
- The cake tastes even better the next day as the flavors meld.
- You can use chocolate cake mix for a richer version.
