- 1 large egg
- For topping:
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions

- 4. In a separate bowl, whisk together buttermilk, melted butter, and egg.
- 5. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined—do not overmix.
- 6. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan.
- 7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- 8. Mix topping ingredients and brush over the loaf immediately after baking.

Notes
- Use sharp cheddar for bold flavor, or try a mix of cheeses.
- Don’t overmix the batter to keep the loaf tender.
- For a spicier twist, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or diced jalapeños.
- Store leftovers wrapped at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for longer.
