Description
A refreshing and tangy frozen treat made with rich Greek yogurt and a hint of sweetness. This tart yogurt ice cream is perfect for hot days and pairs beautifully with fruit or granola.
Ingredients
2 cups plain whole milk Greek yogurt
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/3 cup honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Instructions
1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, heavy cream, honey or maple syrup, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
2. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness as desired.
3. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
4. Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually 20–25 minutes.
5. Transfer the churned ice cream to a lidded container and freeze for 2–3 hours until firm.
6. Let sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping and serving.
Notes
Use full-fat Greek yogurt for the creamiest texture and boldest tang.
No ice cream maker? Freeze the mixture in a shallow dish and stir every 30 minutes for 2–3 hours.
Top with berries, honey drizzle, or toasted nuts for a simple but elegant dessert.
