Description

A rich, creamy, and naturally sweetened vegan chocolate mousse made with ripe avocados silky smooth and deeply chocolaty without any dairy.


Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup or agave nectar
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk (or any plant-based milk)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: coconut whipped cream, shaved dark chocolate, or fresh berries

Instructions

  • 1. Add the avocados, cocoa powder, maple syrup, coconut milk, vanilla extract, and salt to a food processor or blender.
  • 2. Blend until completely smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
  • 3. Taste and adjust sweetness or cocoa as desired.
  • 4. Divide the mousse into small serving bowls or jars.
  • 5. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to develop.
  • 6. Top with coconut whipped cream, berries, or shaved chocolate if desired.

Notes

  • Use very ripe avocados for the smoothest texture and mildest flavor.
  • For a darker chocolate flavor, add an extra tablespoon of cocoa powder.
  • The mousse keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
