Description
A quick and easy single-serving mug brownie made with just three ingredients: Nutella, flour, and an egg. Ready in under two minutes, it's perfect for satisfying chocolate cravings.
Ingredients
4 tablespoons Nutella (or chocolate hazelnut spread)
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 large egg
Instructions
- Grab a microwave-safe mug that holds at least 10 ounces
- Add the Nutella and the egg to the mug. Whisk together with a fork until smooth and fully combined
- Add the flour. Stir vigorously until no dry streaks remain. The batter should be thick and glossy
- Microwave on high power for 45 to 60 seconds. Start checking at 45 seconds. The brownie should look set at the edges but slightly soft in the center
- Let it cool for one minute before serving
Notes
Use a large mug to prevent overflow; the batter expands as it cooks.
Grease the mug lightly with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
Do not overmix the batter; overmixing creates a tough brownie.
Check your microwave wattage; lower wattages need an extra 10 to 15 seconds.
For a vegan version, use a flax egg (1 tablespoon ground flaxseed mixed with 3 tablespoons water, let sit for 5 minutes).
For gluten-free, substitute all-purpose flour with almond flour (texture will be slightly denser).
Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one day; reheat on low power for 15 seconds.
