Description
Gluten free yeast free donuts that require zero rising time, made with pantry staples and baked to a soft, cake-like texture. Simple, wholesome, and ready in under an hour.
Ingredients
- Gluten-free all-purpose flour blend 2 cups
- Granulated sugar 1/2 cup
- Baking powder 2 teaspoons
- Salt 1/4 teaspoon
- Milk (or dairy-free alternative) 3/4 cup
- Eggs 2 large
- Melted butter or oil 2 tablespoons
- Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan well.
- 2. In a large bowl, whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- 3. Add the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix the batter.
- 4. Spoon the batter into the prepared pan.
- 5. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden.
- 6. Remove the donuts from the oven and let them cool.
- 7. Dip them in a simple glaze or cinnamon sugar.
Notes
Always grease your donut pan thoroughly so the donuts release easily.
Do not overbake them, or they will dry out.
Let the donuts cool slightly before glazing so the glaze sticks nicely.
Substitutions: swap milk for almond milk to make dairy-free; add a teaspoon of cinnamon for a cozy flavor; stir in cocoa powder for chocolate donuts.
Storage: store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days, or freeze for up to a month.
Reheating: microwave for 10 seconds or warm in a toaster oven.
Serving suggestions: serve with coffee or tea, fresh fruit, yogurt, or scrambled eggs for brunch.
